WELCOME TO CLIMB PEMBROKE
My name is Henry Castle and welcome to Climb Pembroke!
I moved to Pembrokeshire from Bristol four years ago with my family to set up Climb Pembroke. Having climbed extensively on the sea cliffs of Pembrokeshire for many years, it was great to make the move and have such incredible crags and stunning coastline on my doorstep.
Having been a professional climbing instructor for almost fifteen years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in diverse climbing and mountaineering environments throughout the UK, as well in France, Spain, Italy, the island of Sardinia and Morocco. Before moving to Pembrokeshire I held a Senior Instructor, then Chief Instructor role at the nationally renowned Bristol Climbing Centre for over four years. My personal passion lies in ascents of adventurous traditional rock climbs, making on site first ascents of inspiring lines, and Scottish winter climbing in the mountains.
Now, as well as delivering courses or guiding for Climb Pembroke, I work on the moderation team for the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme, and direct sea cliff climbing skills courses on behalf of the British Mountaineering Council.
I hold the highest Mountain Training UK award - the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC). This allows me to offer all forms of climbing and mountaineering instruction and guiding, both in summer or winter conditions. From sunny sea cliffs to ice climbing on the largest frozen mountains of Scotland.
All courses delivered through Climb Pembroke are private (not open for others to book onto) and are designed around your experience and ambitions. I aim for quality and for you to go away feeling you’ve received a high level of instruction, care and fun! With Climb Pembroke I carry full professional insurance for all activities undertaken, through the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.
Feel free to get in touch to discuss your plans and aspirations and I hope you enjoy looking through the website.
