Winter Climbing and Mountaineering Work and Play
It was a great treat to have a long stay at the Climber's Club Helyg hut, in the beautiful Ogwen Vally a couple of weeks ago. The hills were in good winter condition and I made the most of them with eight days of mountaineering, climbing and a two day navigation course thrown in for good measure. It was also the perfect way to get the legs fit for the continuation trip up to the bigger, meaner mountains of the West Highlands in Scotland.
I first met up with Dave. S for three fun days, then it was out with a Mountaineering Club working on navigation training and then finishing with another three days out climbing with Dave. H, before packing the van back up and hitting the road for the long drive to the Highlands.
