Gold + Rock Climbing in Snowdonia

Climb now, work later...

I met Chris up in the Climber's Club hut, Ynys Ettws in the Llanberis Pass just over a week ago to help him with a Gold DofE Assessment he was in charge of, through www.wildcountryconsultants.co.uk

Not wanting to waste time, we drove the following morning to Marine Drive and some classic limestone trad' routes by the sea. By two o'clock we had finished climbing and were sat in the camp site, waiting for our school to arrive a couple of hours later.

The expedition...

All four teams were very well prepared for their four day expedition through the mountains of Snowdonia and were keen to get out in the hills and get the job done. Going out and about in the hills, I saw many wild flowers and it was a true pleasure to get back. On our second evening, the teams had got into camps so early it left me and Chris time to snatch a quick ascent of Old Holborn, in the Pass. Well done teams on well organised and well executed Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions.
