Adventure and Skills Weekend

I met up on a blustery and wild Saturday morning with regular Climb Pembroke clients Matt and Dave, for a weekend of excitement and skills training. The weather was far from perfect, but we all knew this, so an adventure in the elements was on the cards. To start the day with a bang, an airy free hanging abseil into a seemingly bottomless blowhole brought us down into a inaccessible beach by the booming waves. A scramble later, we were at a sheltered crag, where  we roped up and climbed to the top. Re-rigging a new abseil, down we went again, to then go through the skills required to self belay on a fixed line. With the waves really pounding into the cliffs below, we set up a super scary Tyrolean Traverse across Farnk's Shore  (30m above the raging sea). Super scary stuff!

The following day we headed to another South Pembroke crag, set up a fixed line down the wall and Dave got on lead, bring Matt up and then they swapped round. Really good performances with solid leads. We then headed over to Saddle Head and scrambled down to the base for some more fun there. Great weekend, cheers guys...
