XS, Exploration and a Sea Stack Solo

Sarah-Jane came to stay last night with a plan to climb today, but in the morning a shoulder injury was playing up, so we headed out to Stack Rocks area for a bimble about and check out some areas and generally enjoy being by the cliffs and the sea. We took the guide book with us and looked at some very esoteric rock climbs that warrant the mind bending "XS" grade. Really amazing to think how some climbers look up huge, loose, scary cliffs, tie on and climb up into the unknown on very dangerous rock... Down in Flimstone Bay, we had a bite to eat and I went for a cheeky solo of Flimstone Stack. Then it was underneath Crystal Slabs and on to Mosaic Wall to look at this beautiful piece of rock. After a little sleep on a couple of boulders, it was back to the vans and we went our separate ways. Hope your shoulder gets better soon SJ.
