Trad Climbing at Giltar Slabs

I met up with Jonathan for our second day today. After our day out on Monday, I had gained a lot of confidence in his skills and judgement for traditional climbing. Jonathan had said that he wanted to do some lead climbing, so we headed over to the wonderful Giltar Slabs. After Jonathan had built our abseil anchor, we slid down our fixed rope and I climbed a route to warm us up and for Jonathan to get a feel for the crag. Then the lead was passed to him, and he confidently and efficiently climbed the beautiful Giltar Slab Route (front cover route of the Stackpole and Lydstep guide book, and three stars to boot). After a bite to eat at the top, down we went again and climbed a much tougher Sever called Ladder Groove. Top effort Jonathan, it was a true pleasure to climb with you.
