Ben Nevis Action

I was partnered up with Domagoj from Croatia on Thursday and we decided to hit the Ben, as it was the last day before the weather turned really evil. With high avalanche risk on northerly aspects, we chose The Douglas Boulder as a safe option. Direct Route was our route of choice and it proved to be well worth while.  Seven pitches of mixed action and an abseil decent later, we de-geared at the CIC hut, watching Ian Parnell two thirds of the way up an ascent of Centurion, just as it was starting to get dark... Phil and Choire were bailing from Scotland back to Bristol because of the forecasted foul weather, so I got picked up by the road and we started the slog south. We arrived back in Bristol at 4:45am the following morning. Good effort on driving Phil!
