Yesterday a group of five friends from Bristol - Mark, Jordan, Al, Jay and Simon came over to Pembrokeshire for some alpine rope work training. Their objective next summer is to climb the Matterhorn, by the Italian side ridge. We went through various skills that promote fast, safe movement on a verity of terrain of escalating seriousness, on a rope of two three people. Taking chest coils, confidence roping, moving together, short pitching, direct/indirect belays, cunning use of Ropeman's and lots more was gone through and practised. All the best guys for your mission next year!
