Further North

We are now in the Cairngorms after suffering/enjoying the storms in the west. We had a good day up in Stob Coire Nan Lochan, climbing Boomerang Arete, but with deep snow wading to get there. The three of us have spent the last couple of nights in Phil's van and logistically it's been complicated, yet do-able. Yesterday we went into Coire an t-Sneachda for a look about. We decided to climb The Haston Line, a 3,4 on the Mess of Pottage Buttress. The route was snowy but climbable, with the belays being the only easily unearthed protection on route. Pretty cold and windy and a great short day out. High avalanche risk and even higher winds forecasted, meant Coffee Shop Direct in Aviemore for today...
