Today's gap in the rather persistent rain the UK has been having recently, allowed me and Dave a chance to get out this morning for a bit of exploration around the Lydstep area of sea cliffs. It was a cold morning, with a hard frost covering the ground. Luckily the sun was out and the east faces shone orangey yellow in the morning light. We threw a rope down a section of cliff that offered an area with no recorded routes on. We both top roped a line that seemed pretty good, but the crag was wet and fingers felt wooden with the cold. Something to check out again on a warmer day me thinks. The rest of the morning was spent checking things out a little further along the cliff, where some more potential lines were scoped out.
