Family Rock climbing, North Pembrokeshire sea cliffs

Today I was out with Matt's two oldest sons on an Intro to Rock Climbing Course in the St. David's area. It was Josh (11) and Ollie's (6) first time climbing real rock outside and I wanted to make sure they had a great time. First we walked for ten minutes along the coastal path to Sun Slab, Got them kitted up and did some roped down-scrambling to the start of the routes. After a demo and practice lowering back down, they both climbing a couple of routes on top quality, juggy sandstone. Another route and a bit of scrambling later we topped back out onto the headland. We headed back to the car for a quick snack, then it was down to Caerfai Beach Crag. Matt lead up a 20m slab route called Freak In and me and Josh seconded to the top. An airy lower back down saw Josh, Matt and myself back on the ground ready for tea and medals. Well done boys, I hope you're both hooked on climbing now!
