Lead climbing in St. Davids

Today was Nadia's last day of her four day rock climbing course and we traveled to the sandstone slabs of St. David's. The weather was a little wet and the seas pretty big so we started at Porth Y Ffynnon, where I climbed a couple of routes for Nadia to get a feel for the rock and then she did her first trad lead on The Crack. We then walked round to Porthclais, where Nadia set up the abseil and led Red Adair. Well done to Nadia, a couple of solid leads!

It has been great to work with someone for a full four days and see their skills and confidence grow to a point where they are leading routes, building belays, bringing up a second and have the knowledge about how to deal with problems if they occur. Thanks so much Nadia, you did really well and I had great fun being out on the crag with you. Good luck with all of your future trad climbing.
