Headed out for a quick climb on Monday evening with my old boss Guy from the Bristol Climbing Centre. With limited time we went to Trevallen Cliffs and abbed' in. The crag was roasting even in the evening sun, quickly realised that I had left my chalk bag at the top of the crag, and hopes of harder routes slipped away, so I got on Gypsy Lane, a good 40m HVS up a pumpy lay-back crack, into a funky move through a roof, to an optional belay. I chose to push on through a sea of Samphire, up the easier final corner crack. When guy joined me at the top we decided to re-name the route "Burning Samphire"...! We then booted it back to Bosherston to meet the wives and kiddies for a ice cream at Mrs Weston's Cafe. Will this great weather last all summer?
