Another day on the Penon, this time on it's South West Face and we climbed Via Velencianos. It was a lot sunnier than the day before and the Penon was packed with climbers all over it - some very impressive routes were being done too. It really is a cool place to have an adventure! On Thursday with a poor forecast (yes, it does rain in Spain) we drove north to Alcalali in search of some single pitch stuff to go through some technique training. After 6 routes the weather turned for the worse and we ran away to go for a coffee at a nearby cafe. With rain set in for the following day too, we took a bit of a drive further inland, to a crag called Montesa. This is a gorgeous little area, set on a hill overlooking orange groves and an old castle. The rock is very different to the limestone we have been climbing on up until now and it was a perfect place to finish our week's climbing. Well done Gen for all of your efforts, I really enjoyed getting out climbing with you.
